Wild Haven is a nature builder about rebuilding the forest to its once flourishing state. You, the spirit of a small shrine, are tasked with cleaning up your damaged land and bringing back the plants and animals. As you explore and grow, you’ll discover new wildlife and decide how you want to shape the landscape.

Each new game you start on a procedurally generated map with 25 resources.  Explore the map to discover different kinds of tiles.  Left click on a tile to discover what wildlife you can build.

Certain wildlife can influence the area around them.  Strategically mix and match the influence of different wildlife to add more complex plants and animals.  Each run lasts 50 turns and you can pause the game at anytime to think about your next steps.  Use your resources wisely to build up the forest before you run out of turns.

Make the best woodland forest you can think of and enjoy the game!

Enjoyable. Kept me going until (I believe) I did everything I could in this version.

Something I didn't really understand: Tiles sometimes have a red border around them. I was guessing this meant that their requirements were no longer being met, but I couldn't really tell. I also wasn't sure what the impact of that would be.

I was also a little confused when I'd make a new tile, and not see the use for it. I expect this means it's a dependency of something I haven't yet unlocked, but it might be nice to get some hint in the description. Something like: Require By: X, Y, Z. Or "Required by: Unknown" if you haven't discovered that thing yet.

Overall, I didn't have any real sense of whether I was doing well, or just doing things. Not sure if there's an ultimate goal. Aiming for a high score? Aiming at completely unlocking everything?

Thank you for the feedback!

For the red tiles, yup the wildlife's requirements weren't being met.  We are currently working to flesh out the consequences where you will lose that wildlife and have the tile change in different ways.

That makes sense.  A mix of hints in description and we were thinking of an encyclopedia of sorts?

Yeah, we were thinking of implementing a scoring system at the end of the run where based on the level of wildlife placed and resources gathered would get a score for that run.

super fun so far! if i've already added it to my wishlist, how do i access the extra stuff?

That is great to hear and thank you!  We are hard at work implementing that extra stuff right now.  Our goal is to have more of it ready with next build.

Lovely concept!

Building mechanic is pretty intuitive and tiles grow up and interact in different ways, giving a feeling of living forest.

Music is chill and suitable, liked to pause and take some time before choose the next move.  Maybe it was a bit confussing to me to identify some tiles during my first try.

Also, I would find interesting to display the current turn progress in some way and allow to manage its speed.

Great job dude, keep rocking and thank you for this experience!

Nice, thanks for the feedback!  And noted about displaying how much of the current turn is left/speed of turn!

This is such a beautiful game...

I like how understandable and grounded in reality it is. Ecosystems work similarly to how they are depicted here, and the mechanics work very well with that depiction. All the resources are unique and rely on each other to grow, creating a sense of satisfaction and ease of play to the player. It's fun to watch something that you created flourish, and to learn about how nature builds the world in the process.

The pixel art style is very fitting and cute; I would imagine the game to look a bit boring without them. It's so cool how you can depict animals in the tiles that can house them, all with like ten moving pixels lol. It clearly communicates what's going on and the impact your ecosystem is having on the wildlife. That impact is very rewarding and satisfying to experience!

Everything about the game comes together to create something truly beautiful. Excellent work, and please keep it up!

Thank you for the feedback, Wasabi.  I really appreciate it.
